Welcome to Page 5!

Now that your sock foot is the appropriate length (usually you start toe decreases about 1.5 inches short of your final length), you are ready to decrease the stitches to shape the toe. Here you will be decreasing the stitches on all three needles.

Here we have the foot ready to begin decreasing.

Your pattern will instruct you to again work in paired rows (work one row decreasing; work one row even). You will be decreasing on both ends of the "top of foot" needle, as well as one end of the other two needles, just like you did in the gusset decreasing area.

Here we are, after working a few rounds of the toe. This view is of the "top of foot" needle.

After working the final row of decreases, I like to do one more round even. Then I knit the remaining stitches on the #1 needle onto #3 and that makes my two sets of stitches for grafting.

Above and below; two photos showing the two sets of needles, an even amount of stitches on either needle.

Yipee!! You're doing so great! And now the final step in your sock odyssey! Grafting the toe ...
